This photo shows the planet Venus seen by day. This was my main Covid lockdown project from springtime of 2020.
Right before the first lockdown in March 2020 my father - who is a physicist, astronomer and photographer - sent me a short video of Venus seen by day that he took with his self built telescope. He asked if I could produce 20 seconds of music for it, to have a poetic introduction for the astronomy workshops he planned to give. As the weirdness of lockdown, isolation etc had started, the metaphor of Venus ('love... only love...') became an important mantra in daily routine. So they idea sticked around for many weeks, 20 seconds of music became 10 minutes, these got 30 minutes until it got one piece of almost two hours, made with amazing contributions and love of all dear musicians and friends. To keep some kind of freshness and spontaneity, I had asked everybody to record only one single shot, no second take or overdubs.

This is dedicated to my first guitar teacher and second father Rolf Oppermann who passed away during the making of this music on 29 April 2020.
